Hello friends!
If you know me (which if you don’t, buckle up, it’s a wild ride) you know that I’m a Prime-aholic. Yeah, I’ve been given shit about ordering from Amazon because Jeffrey Bezos sucks, what about the carbon emissions from the delivery trucks… I GET IT. But as a very busy working mom of 5, Amazon saves me valuable time, money, and stress to get the things my family needs delivered right to my door. The subscribe and save has been an absolute game changer (in a household full of teens & preteens who forget to tell me we’re out of paper towels, toilet paper, toothpaste, and laundry detergent until I’ve already planned & completed my shopping for the week).
A good friend of mine suggested years ago, when I first started this blog, to do a post on my Amazon favorites. Because let’s be real: I’ve tried it ALL. Baby products, women’s clothing, skincare and makeup, household cleaners–you name it, I’ve tried it. With Prime Day less than two weeks away, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favorite items I’ve purchased through Prime that you should be on the lookout for.
Amazon Finds I Tried and Loved
- Mama Bear Gentle Touch Diapers (Amazon Brand): LISTEN. As a mom of 5, I’ve tried every brand of diaper. Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, Costco, Honest, Walmart, BJs, Target–ALL of them. And by far, the best bang for my buck has been these Mama Bear diapers. They’re leak-proof, have the little blue line to indicate when they’re wet, and they’re also CUTE (love the little deer on the design). But the best part is they’re affordable, and I get them delivered right to my door with Amazon’s subscribe and save (every 4 weeks, because I have just ONE kid in diapers now, woo hoo!)
- Amazon Elements Fragrance-Free Baby Wipes: again. 5 kids over 13 years. Lots of trial and error. Don’t spend a fortune on bougie-brand baby wipes. I have kids with sensitive skin, and these fragrance-free wipes by Amazon Elements do the job. And you guessed it–subscribe and save for the win.
- Dinosaur Egg Bath Bombs: these aren’t Amazon brand, but this was a gem a friend had purchased for my four-year-old’s birthday, and they’ve quickly become a bathtime must-have in our house. These dino egg-shaped bath bombs smell great, have the ‘fizziness factor’ my two toddlers approve of, and have rubber dinosaur figurines that you discover as the bath bomb dissolves. *Note: if your toddler likes to put things in their mouth, you may want to wait until they’re a bit older. My 20-month-old puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, so these are a no-safe-zone for him, but he still enjoys the bath bomb dissolving and turning the water fun colors.
- Crossbody Purse/Fanny Pack by Zorfin: TikTok influencers have gotten me with that Lulelemon fanny pack bag (you know which one I’m talking about). But if you’re like me and don’t want to drop $100+ on a bag that looks like something we wore in the 1990s, this dupe fanny pack can be worn crossbody or on your waist. There are dozens of colors (including different color stitching and zippers) and the quality is excellent. This is my everyday bag (I’m in that weird limbo in between using a diaper bag and converting back to using a real purse). This bag holds my cards and cash, keys, phone, lipstick, and all of my essentials on the go. I bought the quilted grey with the gold stitching and zipper (it looks army green to me).
- Timos Adjustable Dog Collar: of course, I have to bring something dog-related to this list of my favorites. I got a Bernedoodle pup last fall and was thoroughly unprepared for 1-how incredibly fast he would grow, and 2-how incredibly fucking DESTRUCTIVE this mofo could be. The combination of both aforementioned qualities in Watson has led me to try SEVERAL collars, leashes, and harnesses that have been eaten/destroyed/outgrown. I found this one for relatively cheap ($12.99) and it comes in dozens of patterns. Watson is currently rocking the Sunset Valley pattern, and it has held up great.
- Stardrops The Pink Stuff Miracle Bathroom Foam Cleaner: as you can imagine, I do a lot of cleaning with 5 kids and 4 dogs in our household. I’ve tried DOZENS of cleaning products over the years. Mr. Clean and Soft Scrub are by far my two go-to’s, however–I was looking for a bathroom cleaning product that was a little less harsh on my hands as I scrub and perhaps didn’t have so much bleach. My mom introduced me to this Pink Stuff, which comes in a bright pink spray bottle. It smells great (unlike other bleach-based bathroom cleaners), and it really foams up and works well. I wipe it up with a wet cloth, and I love the way it leaves my bathroom smelling.
- Reduce 50oz Mug Water Tumbler: RUN, don’t walk to grab this Stanley-Esq dupe that I love WAY more than the expensive-ass brand. I have this water jug sitting next to me at my desk at all times. It’s BIG, so I don’t cart this one around. But it’s a staple to my work day, and it comes in a bunch of adorable colors with matching straws (I’ve got Cayenne, which is coral in color). Did I mention that it’s currently 40% OFF ($29.99!) and comes in 32oz and 50oz sizes.
- Power Crunch Protein Wafer Bars: I started a journey to better my overall health in January, and on this journey found these delicious protein bars. A friend recommended them to me, and I was thrilled to find them on Amazon. These bars are 13g in protein and only 5g in sugar. They come in a bunch of flavors (chocolate mint is my ultimate favorite, and Erik loves the peanut butter fudge. They also have this awesome variety pack with 6 of their best flavors, including peanut butter creme, triple chocolate, and lemon meringue.
- The Only Bean Crunchy Roasted Edamame: these are another staple to my workday protein-packed snack routine. These are delicious, packed with protein (11g with only 3g carbs), and come in 3 flavors (sea salt, sriracha, and buffalo). Love these snackies!
- Braided Apple Watch band: I love my Apple watch for fitness tracking, and staying on top of my messages when I’ve stepped away from my phone. But a lot of the “fitness” bands I’ve tried had a tendency to come undone as I’m moving, resulting in me almost losing my watch several times. I found these adjustable, elastic braided bands that come in dozens of colors (I have the milk tea/dark cherry and starlight/sage green bundles). $9.99 for a two-pack, AND they are machine washable! (I thought I destroyed mine while gardening with black mulch, but just threw it in the washing machine with my clothes and it came out good as new).
Think this is all the recs I’ve got? WRONG. I’ve been an Amazon addict for a decade. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned as we get closer to Prime Day for more tips and tricks from a mom whose tried it all.
Be well!
Unapologetically, Ally.
