I won’t lie–Prime Day seems to be over-hyped for even my Amazon-obsessed self. I’m also in the mode of life where I’m desperately trying NOT to spend money. With 5 kids, it’s hard to be minimalist. It’s also hard for my ADD when I have a tendency to start new hobbies bi-weekly, buy all the materials for said hobbies, and then forget them with reckless abandon. At least I own it.
All of that said, I purchased one–yes, ONE, uno, uma–product on Prime Day this year (and I resolve to stick with that one purchase, and not go into a Prime-induced haze this evening while scrolling on my phone, adding things I don’t need to my cart).
If this product doesn’t show you what phase of life I’m currently in, I don’t know what does:
- Amazon Fire 7″ Kids Tablet: we are about to embark on either the most fun or most insane road trip our family has ever taken. We are taking 2 cars full of 12 people to visit family in Atlanta for the first time. This will be Liam’s first road trip (other than driving down the shore, which starks in comparison to this 13-hour drive). Jaxon already has one of these bad boys, and it definitely came in handy on our trip down to Florida last December. Since the tablet is 50% off today ($54.99 down from $109.99!) I thought Liam could use his own for our trip. I’ll let you know if it makes the drive with 2 teenage girls and 2 toddlers any more bearable.
Although I only made one purchase (because I’m trying to save money these days and get us out of debt), there were a few Prime Day deals that piqued my interest that you might be into:
iRobot Roomba Self-Emptying Vacuum: I personally have the Shark version of this vacuum (lovingly named Clean Latifah). She is by far my most helpful cleaning companion in our crazy household. This Roomba version is 50% off today and tomorrow ( $399.99 from $799.99!) It has a tank that the vacuum empties into, so you only have to empty it once a month (this is what the advert says-but if you have a zoo of a household like I do, you empty it every 6-7 days).
Crocs: no explanation necessary. While I have not yet caved and purchased a pair for myself, everyone else in my house wears these daily. In case you weren’t aware, yes–they’ve made a comeback. This particular style is 36% off ($31.99 down from $49.99). If you’re looking for a certain style & color, keep searching–there are multiple styles & colors on sale.
Pop Corners Variety Pack Box: these are a must-have for our family pantry. This variety pack includes 6 flavors (including my faves, Kettle Corn and Sea Salt). These are 30% off today and tomorrow for $13.50. Now I’m thinking I should pick up a box of these for our road trip!
Seresto Dog Flea & Tick Collar: this is a STEAL, 33% off ($45.99 down from $67.82 for big dogs, and $45.21 for small dogs). I personally hate having to remember to put the flea & tick liquid meds on my dogs’ necks every month (because #lifeisbusy). These are a great, not messy alternative and so affordable in comparison! (just not when you have a large pack of dogs, such as myself. Then nothing is affordable).
Some other faves I saw that are worth noting:
- 5lbs of Twizzlers for $9.45 (because why the hell not)
- Nerds gummy clusters for $2.86 (if you like Nerds and haven’t tried these, treat yo’self)
- 2nd Generation Apple AirPods for $89.99 (3rd Gen are $139.99)
- Bissell Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaner for $86.99 (a must-own for pet owners)
A few notes from a self-proclaimed Amazon expert: the best deals are always on Amazon-brand electronics (Kindles, Alexas, etc.) If you’ve been wanting a new Kindle, tablet, Alexa, FireStick–today and tomorrow are the days to buy them. There are some other deals on the stuff you buy every single day that would be great to stock up on (everything from diapers and skincare to dog toys and household cleaners).

Unapologetically,
Ally.
